"We are meeting Nariman tomorrow at New Delhi to seek legal opinion on the verdict of second Krishna Tribunal. We will then take a decision on Nariman's stand after examining pros and cons of the subject matter," he told reporters after a meeting of the Floor Leaders of both Houses of the state Legislature here.
Siddaramaiah said the opposition leaders suggested to the government to file a Special Leave Petition against the tribunal verdict in the apex court, but the ruling party had an open mind before taking any decision on the matter.
Siddaramaiah, Law Minister T B Jayachandra, Water Resources Minister M B Patil, Rural Development and Panchayatraj Minister H K Patil and IT Minister S R Patil, are scheduled to hold discussions with Nariman tomorrow.
The meeting, Siddaramaiah said, was held for almost three hours in the presence of legal experts to safeguard the state's interest of getting maximum share from Krishna river.
The Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal-II had on November 29, upheld its 2010 award including allowing Karnataka to increase the height of Almatti dam in Bagalkot to 524.256 metres from the existing 519.6 m.
The tribunal has so far allocated 2578 tmc ft of water to riparian Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The three states would get 666, 907 and 1005 tmc ft of Krishna water respectively.
