Police said the 20-year-old man was arrested for kidnapping and raping the plus II student on August 13 and the girl was also rescued.
The girl who belongs to Golanthara, 20-km from here, had gone to a college at Berhampur but did not return home on the same day.
Unable to trace the girl, her parents lodged an FIR on August 15 at Golanthara police station.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided a house at Antarabati village and rescued the girl and arrested the accused from there.
The accused was arrested under various sections of the IPC and Protection of Children for Sexual Offences Act, police added.
