The 35-year-old actress, best known for her portrayal of Irene Adler in the second season of "Sherlock", has joined Kate Beckinsale, and Theo James in the film whose plot is being kept under wraps, reported Deadline.
The film will be directed by Anna Foerster from a script written by Cory Goodman.
Tom Rosenberg, Gary Lucchesi, Richard S Wright, David Kern and Len Wiseman are producing the movie.
Production of the film is set to begin later this year in Prague. The film is set for release in 2016.
