Lead up 0.2% on spot demand

Rise in demand from battery-makers in the spot market helped lead prices to trade higher

Lead prices traded higher by 0.26% to Rs 135.55 per kg in futures market today as speculators created fresh positions due to rise in demand from battery-makers in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in January rose by 35 paise, or 0.26%, to Rs 135.55 per kg in a business turnover of 1,385 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in February traded higher by 30 paise, or 0.22%, to Rs 136.75 per kg in 114 lots.

Market analysts said speculators created fresh positions after a rise in demand from battery-makers in the spot market helped lead prices to trade higher at futures trade.
