Taking positive cues from global markets, lead prices were marginally up by 0.16 per cent to Rs 123.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions.
Besides, rising demand from battery-makers in the spot market supported the upside.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in May edged up by 20 paise, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 123.80 per kg in business turnover of 94 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in June contract traded traded up by 15 paise, or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 125.05 per kg in one lot.
Market analysts said apart from firming trend overseas, fresh positions built-up by speculators supported by pick up in demand from battery makers helped lead futures to trade higher.
