During the rally, CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury dubbed Hindutva organisations as "anti-national" and accused them of not only disturbing peace, but endangering scientific temperament in the country.
"These anti-national forces are not only disturbing peace and communal harmony of the country but also causing a serious danger to scientific temperament in the country.
"People are robbed because of severe price hike but Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his Government and RSS are endangering communal harmony and national integration of the country," Yechury was quoted as saying by CPI(M) in a statement.
Raja alleged that the RSS-BJP is spreading communal hatred in order to divert public attention from NDA Government's alleged failure in tackling issues like price rise, corruption, black money, unemployment, privatisation of education, etc.
"This is evident from Dadri incident, murders of Dabholkar, Pansare and Kalburgi. CPI and Left parties have always given a serious hurt to these communal spread and ideology.
"We will not allow these forces to break national integration," Raja added.
Besides Yechury and Raja, the rally was addressed by AIFB Secretary G Devrajan, SUCI (C) politburo member Krishna Chakraborty, CPI-ML (Liberation) politburo member Kavita Krishnan, RSP secretary Shatrujit Singh and CGPI spokesmen Prakash Rao.
The protest was joined by workers, party supporters, teachers, professors, youth and others.
