Left union leader held on charge of raping minor

A middle-aged man, stated to be local leader of a left wing trade union, was arrested today on charge of raping a four-year old girl in Dumdum area of North 24 Parganas district.
Police said Shyamal Chakroborty (50), the leader, allegedly forced himself on the little child when she was alone at her residence with parents away last evening.
The parents today lodged an FIR after admitting the girl to Baranagore State General Hospital where she would be medically examined.
Chakraborty was stated to be the leader of the labour union in Durganagar rail station area.
