"Girls" creator Lena Dunham is working on a brand new comedy pilot for HBO - set in the heyday of 1960s feminism.
"Max" is a period comedy from Dunham, "Girls" writer Murray Miller and producer Jenni Konner, reported Variety.
Lisa Joyce will star as a plucky magazine writer named Maxine Woodruff, who finds herself at the forefront of second-wave feminism.
"Max" is set in the same period as Emmy darling "Mad Men", but its premise will obviously offer an alternate perspective of the '60s.
Aside from producing the pilot, Dunham is also expected to direct if HBO orders "Max" to series.
Dunham's long-term partnership with HBO includes an upcoming fifth season of "Girls" and the well-received documentary "It's Me, Hilary: The Man Who Drew Eloise".
