"At a rally in North 24 Parganas district today, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced a lot of projects. But according to the model code of conduct, she cannot announce new projects. This is a gross violation of the model code of conduct," he told reporters.
"The State Election Commission should take note of such violation of the code and see that everybody goes by the code. The SEC is not acting properly," said Bose, also the CPI(M) state secretary.
Bose urged the state Congress leadership to take up the matter of providing adequate security personnel for the panchayat polls with the central government.
To a question on Banerjee's allegation that the protest in Kamduni village were organised by CPI(M), Bose said, "These are all rubbish and I don't want to comment on allegations levelled by a person whose politics is determined by lies and rumours."
