Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, reportedly suffered the seizure during an airplane flight from Wisconsin to California, as it was forced to make an emergency landing in Nebraska when he fell unconscious, reported Billboard.
The hip-hop star has previously spoken out about suffering from epilepsy.
After a hospitalisation in 2013, he explained: "The bad news is I'm an epileptic, I'm prone to seizures.
Lil Wayne is scheduled to perform concerts with 2 Chainz and Tech N9ne in Kansas City on Saturday (June 18). It's unclear if that gig will go ahead as scheduled.
