LJP workers court arrests

of former union minister Ramvilas Paswan today courted arrest under a 'fill-the-jail' campaign against Nitish Kumar government's alleged failure on all fronts.

Prominent among the party leaders who courted arrest were LJP general Secretary Satyanand Sharma, Vishnu Paswan, Yamuna Yadav, Alok Kushwaha, Lalan Kumar and MD Salam, police sources said.

Hundreds of LJP workers demonstrated before the statue of Jaya Prakash Narayan here and marched in a procession to to Rajbhavan to petition the governor, but were prevented by securitymen.

The party has launched an agitation from June 13 to demand a CBI inquiry into alleged loot of funds from the treasuries, besides a CBI inquiry into alleged BIADA land scam, among others.
