The woman employee identified as Jyoti Tiwari was caught after a tip-off that she had demanded a bribe of Rs 1,500 for providing a measurement book to the complainant, Mahesh Ninama, Lokayukta SP, Virendra Singh said.
Ninama is the husband of Hanumantia Kaag village sarpanch, Sukmabai, he said.
For the construction of village road, Rs 2 lakh were sanctioned under the MLA's local area development fund and after the road was laid, its measurement book was deposited by the sub-engineer in the Janpad panchayat office.
After Ninama tipped-off Lokayukta officials about it, a trap was laid and Tiwari was caught red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 1,000 from Ninama in the Janpad panchayat office.
A case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against Tiwari.
