Lokayukta names 13 Goa MLAs for financial statement non-

Goa Deputy Chief Ministers Chandrakant Kavlekar and Manohar Ajgaonkar were among the 13 MLAs whose names were made by public by the state Lokayukta for not submitting list of assets and liabilities for the financial year ending March 31, 2019.

The others named in the list released by Lokayukta PK Misra are BJP MLAs Clafasio Dias, Wilfred D'Sa, Francisco Silveira, Subhash Shirodkar, Carlos Almeida, Antonio Fernandes and Nilkanth Kalarnkar, Congress legislator Alexio Reginaldo Lourenco, NCP's Churchill Alemao, Goa Forward Party MLA Vinod Palyekar and Independent MLA Prasad Gaonkar.

The last date to submit the financial statement for fiscal 2018-19 was November 5, 2019.

The MLAs, after being served notices, were asked to submit their statement of assets and liabilities by January 7, 2020, failing which their names were to be published in newspapers.
