PWD officials said that the level of the dam has increased by 12 feet within a span of six days from 44.43 feet on July 14 due to heavy rains. The inflow into the reservoir was 3646 cusecs while the discharge into Bhavani river was 1050 cusecs.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa has ordered release of water from the reservoir tomorrow. The discharged water would reach Kalingarayan anicut from where water would be let into the Kalingarayan canal in the evening tomorrow to irrigate 14,800 of lands in Erode district.
