The agreements including Concession Agreement for Jaigad Port Connectivity, launching of Mumbai Urban Transport Projects (MUTP)-3 and Implementation of e-Office in Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) were signed in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.
Prabhu said, "These agreements signed with the state government are the part of our endeavor that we want to make every state our partner."
He further said that both the state and Centre have decided to give full thrust towards Mumbai and launching of Rs 11,441 crore projects under the MUTP-3 is the big example of it.
On the agreement with JSW ports, Prabhu said, "This is not an MoU with the largest steel company of the country, but its a signed, sealed and delivered agreement which will immensely help railway to increase its freight revenue."
Few of the projects that include in the MUTP-3 are quadrupling of Virar-Dahanu Road (3,555 cr), New Suburban Railway Corridor between Panvel-Karjat (2,024 cr), Procurement of Rolling Stock (2,899 Cr), Redevelopment of 21 stations of Central Railway and and Western Railway (1,950 cr) and Trespass Control on Central and Western Railway at 22 Mid-sections (520 cr).
