"Like their counterparts in the police force, prison officials will also get Rs 5,000 in cash to get their uniform stitched from outside. They will also get a day's salary if they are on duty during holidays," Additional DG and IG (Prisons) B K Upadhyay told PTI here.
At present, the wages of prison officials varies from city to city.
"Prison officials will also get fitness allowance of Rs 100 per month and washing allowance of Rs 100 per month like police officials. At present the washing allowance for prison officials is Rs 40," he said.
