Mahindra Powerol launches new range of marine engines

Mahindra Powerol of the diversified business conglomerate Mahindra Group Friday launched a new range of marine engines under the Seahawk series.

The engines range from 24hp to 300hp and include 11 variants.

"Today's launch of engines in the marine category presents us with a new business opportunity and consumer group. We now have engines ranging from 15hp to 400hp to straddle a wide segment of business needs", Mahindra Powerol business-head Sachin Nijhawan said in a press release.

Designed at the research and development facility of Powerol near Chennai and manufactured in Pune and Nagpur, the engines cater to 25 types of applications, including concrete mixers, concrete pumps and loaders, the press release said.

Mahindra Powerol forayed into power generation business in 2001-02.

In the financial year 2017-18, the company clocked a revenue of Rs 1,400 crore, the release added.
