A 25-year-old man, alleged to be involved in several cases of attempt to murder was arrested here, and some arms and a bayonet of an AK-47 rifle, was also found from his possession, police said today.
The accused, identified as Amit Kumar, also alleged to be involved in illegal procurement of arms and ammunition, was arrested from north Delhi's Burari area, police said.
The accused was involved in three cases of attempt to murder and one case under the Arms Act.
According to police, illegal arms and ammunition have been recovered from his possession.
"One country-made gun, two khukhri knives, one sword, several cartridges and a bayonet of one AK-47 rifle were recovered from his home," DCP (North) Madhur Verma said.
Sources said the man is now being interrogated by both Special Cell of the Delhi Police as well as a central intelligence agency.
His activities came in light when a case was registered against him at Burari Police Station for allegedly injuring a 'Gramin Sewa' auto driver on January 18, police said.
Later acting on a tip-off the police raided Kumar's house in Burari and apprehended him, police said.
Police have registered a case against him and investigations are on to find the source of arms and other ammunition.
