However, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat termed the matter as minor and said a case has been registered against the constable and others in city Kotwali under relevant sections of IPC.
According to the victim, Jaikishan Gujjar, the incident took place on July 6 when he was allegedly attacked by constable Jodhraj, his son and three others.
He claimed that he sustained injuries and fracture in the attack and he saved his life by running into his neighbours' house. He was later admitted to a general hospital and was discharged on Friday evening.
The victim's family members and neighbours submitted separate memoranda to district collector and Superintendent of Police (SP), demanding action against the accused.
Investigations into the matter is underway, police said adding that no arrests have made so far.
