Man attempts suicide in front of DM's office

A 45-year-old man allegedly attempted suicide by setting himself on fire in front of the district magistrate's office under Sadar Bazar police station area here, police said today.
Gopal, a resident of Antapara, set himself afire over his strained relation with wife, they said.
ADM Dhirendra Sachan, who was present at the magistrate's office, rushed to the spot for Gopal's rescue, they said.
He was referred to SN Medical College Agra as he sustained 90 per cent burn injuries, Deputy SP Chakrapani Tripathi said.
Gopal's wife had filed a complaint against him following which he was sent to jail for a day, the Deputy SP said.
