Man booked for seeking job with fake GATE marksheet

A man has been booked for allegedly appearing for an ONGC job interview in Dehradun with fake marksheet of GATE.
Prof Shounak Chatterjee of IIT Kanpur, who is the Chairman of GATE-2015 Organising Committee, said he received an email from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) last Monday seeking authenticity of the score of Guna Teja M Sudarshan, a resident of Madanapalle in Andhra Pradesh.
Sudarshan had appeared for ONGC interview in Dehradun and produced marksheet which claimed his GATE score to be 712 and marks to be 53.33 out of 100. He claimed his All India Rank to be 206 and said he was a topper in chemical engineering discipline, the professor said.

Doubting the score, ONGC administration sent the marksheet to IIT Kanpur which had conducted online GATE exam this year, he said.
Upon scrutiny it was found that Sudarshan had failed in the exam as his GATE score stood at 196 and had secured 17.67 marks out of 100, Prof Chatterjee said.
He said the marksheet produced by Sudarshan was fake.
The ONGC has informed today that an FIR has been registered against Sudarshan in Dehradun and all his fake documents have been seized, he added.
