The deceased has been identified as Gulab Singh, they said.
"The incident took place last night when Gulab along with his three brothers, all having property business, were consuming alcohal at his home. Suddenly a fight broke out between Gulab and Charan Singh over some minor issue," said a senior police official.
"The fight turned ugly after which Singh shot at Gulab and fled the spot," the officer added.
Gulab suffered a bullet injury and he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.
