A man died after falling from the fifth floor of the General Post Office (GPO) here Wednesday, police said.
The man, who is yet to be identified, was rushed to the nearby Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Civil Hospital where he was declared 'brought dead' by doctors.
Eyewitnesses said the man appeared to be around 50 years of age and the incident took place between 1 pm and 1.20 pm on Wednesday.
GPO officials said the man was not an employee of the main post office, 'Meghdoot Bhawan'.
Panbazar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Pranjal Bora said the reason of the death was yet to be ascertained.
