A local court Friday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering a woman in 2015.
The convict, Kumar Walmik Patil (31), a resident of Kasheli in Kalher of Bhiwandi, was also fined Rs 10,000 by District Judge S P Gondhalekar.
Additional Public Prosecutor Ujjwala Moholkar said Patil's marriage was fixed to Meenal Dubele but he doubted her character.
They fought frequently and Patil, on December 5, 2015 took Dubele to a lodge in Akloli area of Ganeshpuri and strangled her to death, Moholkar said.
Thirteen witnesses were examined in the case, the additional public prosecutor said.
