The incident happened at Harpur village and the deceased have been identified as Nirmal Sahni (52) and Pintu Kumar (4).
Sonepur SHO C B Mishra said, "Both the deceased were eating food, when one Munna Sharma, who had bought a SUV was learning how to drive it. By mistake he pressed the accelerator instead of the brake and the vehicle ran over the duo."
Police officials said the angry villagers gathered on the spot and beat Sharma. He was rescued by the police. The bodies have been sent for postmortem.
