Sanjit, who hails from Bihar's Khagaria district, was apprehended from Sadar Bazar on a tip off that he will come to the locality, S B S Tyagi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), said.
Sanjit came to Delhi in 2000 to financially help his family. Initially, he had worked as a casual labourer.
"In 2010, his father died and the burden of the whole family came over the shoulder of Sanjit and his elder brother Ranjit. The next year, he came in contact with an alleged drug trafficker Rekha.
"He started supplying heroin for her. Rekha was recently arrested by Narcotics Cell of Crime Branch and since Rekha is in jail, Sanjit took over her business of heroin supply. He procured the heroin allegedly from one Raveena of Loni in U.P," Tyagi said.
