They said the main accused Ravikumar Gowda had shot dead his uncle Muddu Krishnappa in connivance with his friends over a property dispute and tried to make it appear like a mishap.
Gowda was said to be upset with his uncle for allegedly denying him his due share in the ancestral property and intercepted him along with the six others when he was on the way to his village on a motorcycle, police said.
They further said he told passers-by that his uncle had met with an accident and took him to a private hospital where doctors declared that he was brought dead.
Police said investigation revealed the handiwork of Gowda and his six accomplices, who supplied two guns, the car and motorcycle to kill Krishnappa.
Police also recovered the weapons with cartridges and vehicles used in the crime.
