The Police arrested one person from the city after recovering from him Rs 30 lakh in unaccounted cash, a senior officer said Thursday.
The person was intercepted at Mullick Street in Burrabazar police station limits late Wednesday night when he was found carrying a large bag.
When searched, the police found the cash inside it and when he failed to explain satisfactorily why he was carrying such a large amount in cash, he was arrested.
"A case has been initiated into the matter. Officers are trying to collect further details into it," the officer stated.
West Bengal goes to seven-phase Lok Sabha polls beginning April 11.
