Man kills four family members, then commits suicide

A man killed four members of his family then dismembered and burnt their bodies before taking his own life in Odisha's Keonjhar district.
The 45-year-old Srikrishna Mahanta hacked to death his 40-year-old wife Rukuni, 15-year-old daughter Sabita, 12-year-old son Suresh and 50-year-old sister Sarathi at their house in Gandabarei village late last night, police sources said.
After killing his family members, Mahanta dismembered the bodies and set them on fire, the sources said.
He then jumped into the fire and ended his own life, they said.
Neighbours attracted by screams coming from the house informed the police.
The police arrived and recovered the five charred bodies.

Though the exact reason for the killings and suicide was yet to be ascertained, it might have been caused by a family dispute, they added.
