In a fit of rage, a man allegedly beat his 70-year-old mother to death with a rod after being denied sole ownership of a land in Naharpar village, police said today.
Yashoda Devi died at a local hospital after being beaten by her son Chatrapal last night, said SHO (Bhupani) Pankaj.
He added Chatrapal entered into a heated argument with Devi after she asked him to share a land with his brother, Bhagwati.
"In a fit of rage he picked a rod and beat his mother," said Pankaj, adding a case has been lodged at Bhupani police station by Bhagwati.
A manhunt has been launched to nab the accused, he added.
