Man kills woman before shooting self

A 25-year-old man allegedly killed a woman before shooting himself dead at a DLF Colony flat in Sahibabad area of the district.
Police said the incident took place last night and the duo were in a relationship. The duo were identified as Vaishali-resident Priyanka (22) and Amit, a resident of Nand Nagri area.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Arvind Yadav, prima facie it seems that a heated argument during their meeting at a flat in DLF Colony led to the killings. The man strangled the woman to death before shooting himself.
Locals told police that the vacant flat was being rented out on hourly basis by a property dealer. They said though they had complained of renting out the flat for immoral acts, the property dealer did not pay heed to them.

The deaths came to light when a group of youths went to the flat for a get-together. They found the flat locked from inside. And when they broke into the house "they saw the bodies of a boy and a girl lying on the bed", police said.
They immediately informed the property dealer and called police.
Yadav said a team of forensic experts was summoned to collect finger print samples. "Finger impressions were visible on the neck of the woman, and the pistol was in the fist of the deceased boy. Presence of blood stains on the barrel of the pistol shows that bullet was fired from close proximity," he said.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem, Yadav said, adding that a case has been registered and further investigations into the matter were on.
