Man sentenced to 20 years RI in murder case

A man was sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment by a local court today for killing a fellow villager in Ganjam district about 12 years ago.
Additional district judge Chintamani Panda convicted Muna Swain for murdering Harikrushna Swain on August 29, 2003 at Hugulapeta village.
He also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on Swain failing which he would undergo an additional jail term for a year.
The court also ordered the district collector and secretary of district legal cell to pay Rs 5 lakh compensation to the victim's widow.
