The couple were going to Hathras from Delhi on a motorcycle when bandits intercepted them.
Ghanshyam, who belongs to Nand Nagri area of the national capital, tried to fight off the miscreants who shot at him.
Passers by rushed to his rescue after hearing the screams of his wife and took him to a nearby hospital where he is recuperating, SHO Rameshwar Kumar said.
However, no complaint is registered yet in this regard, he added.
