Man shot dead for opposing consuming of liquor

A man was shot dead by five men who were drinking near his residence in Masuri area here today.
When 30-year-old Vivek objected to their drinking, one among the took out a pistol and shot at him and his friend Veeru and fled from the spot, a police officer said.
Vivek died on the spot after receiving a bullet on his head, while Veeru was rushed to hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
An FIR was lodged in which Vivek's family has named Nande Gurjar, Sube Gurjar and Sonu Yadav, while two others are yet to be identified, he said.

"Around five-seven drinkers would regularly gather at a vacant plot near Vivek's residence and create ruckus. Accused also used to pass lewd comments on girls passing by," the officer said.
A probe has been launched and all five accused would be arrested soon, the officer said.
