Man wanted for killing seven people in J-K arrested after 23 years

An accused wanted for the last 23 years for his alleged involvement in the killing of seven people was arrested from a village in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said Tuesday.

Accused Wali Mohammad Mir, of the Saderkoot Bala area of Bandipora district, was involved in the brutal murder of seven people - five men and two women - of Saderkoot Bala village of Bandipora district in 1996, an official said.

Police were tipped off about Mir's presence in the village, he said.
