On a tip off that the rebel identified as Vikash was at a place under Muffasil police station in the district, a police team raided the spot and arrested him, Superintendent of Police A V Homkar told reporters here.

Besides the attack on the police patrol party near G T Road in Dhanbad district, Homkar said Vikash was also allegedly involved in the attack on the newly-constructed police lines on the outskirts of Giridih district, which left two labourers dead on July 23 this year.

Maoist literature, banners and posters were allegedly recovered from him, the police officer said.
