Over 1,000 persons are expected to take part in the marathon organised by city-based NGO Uddeep Welfare Society.
"The main aim of organising this marathon is to create awareness among the people to create sense of equality towards the special persons," Poonam Shotriya, who was recently awarded by President Pranab Mukherjee as 100 women achievers of the country selected by Union Ministry of Women and Child Development along with Facebook, told reporters here.
"We don't want any special treatment, but want people to have sense of equality towards us. If they understand that only, it will be a major achievement," she added.
"So far we have received over 1,000 entries," Shotriya said adding the marathon will begin from Polytechnique Square, Ravindra Bhawan and after traversing through Raj Bhawan, Lal Parade Ground, Police Head Quarter (PHQ), Old Fish Aaqurium will culminate at Ravindra Bhawan.
