Special teams of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and state police have fanned out in the Chirang district and other areas from where the two unarmed personnel went missing on December 6.
"We are undertaking massive efforts to trace our boys. We have sought help from Assam police and local administration," SSB chief Arun Chaudhary told PTI.
The force has also alerted it's formations along the Bhutan border to keep extra vigil on the movement of militant outfits, including the Songbijit faction of the banned NDFB, in order to find a clue about the two personnel.
Five SSB jawans had gone to Kahitama on bicycle to patrol the area in the morning of December 6 and while they were returning to their camp at Sikhlaijhar in Panbari area after crossing Sakua river, the two went missing.
