In a massive publicity campaign, the government will reach out to the people of the country through 345 mobile exhibition vans in 643 districts to highlight its achievements in the last year.
Information and Broadcasting Ministry has deployed 345 mobile exhibition vans at 643 districts, while the song and drama division has chalked out a plan to organise 750 programmes in two phases, with artists highlighting the developmental schemes through various art forms, Ministry officials said.
The DAVP, a wing of the I&B Ministry, has set up 30 exhibitions in 30 states/UT capitals including in Delhi and Andamans, in the first phase ending June 2.
In the second phase from June 8, DAVP will be setting up 30 more exhibitions across 21 states, where stalls of banks and insurance companies like LIC have also been put up to help people avail benefits of social security schemes.
Besides, static exhibitions at large cities and towns like Patna, Ranchi and Jaipur have also attracted more than 5,000 footfalls every day.
The vans have evoked more curiousity in rural areas and banks, LIC and post office stalls for Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana have brought in large crowds, said a Ministry official.
While the first phase of the endeavour marking the first anniversary of the Narendra Modi-led NDA government started on May 26 and ends on June 2, the second phase starts on June 8 and will continue till the end of the month to cover all the districts in the country.
The song and drama division of the Ministry has also deputed 52 cultural troupes of departmental staff artistes and those empanelled and groups are presenting awareness programs through nukkad natak, folk and traditional dances, ballet, recitals, magic shows and other local folk-traditional theatre forms on the developmental programmes of the government.
The effort is part of government's plan to reach out to the masses at the grassroots level and help them avail benefits of social security schemes brought by it.
