After leaving BSP two days ago, Maurya yesterday described SP as a "party of goons".
Asked to reflect on Maurya's remarks, Shivpal said, "He has lost his mental balance and needs treatment. The BSP has given him much more than he deserves."
The SP leader also denied reports of internal rifts in the party over its merger with Quami Ekta Dal (QED). Shivpal clarified that Afzal Ansari and one of his brothers have joined hands with SP but not Mukhtar Ansari, adding that Afzal had joined hands with SP in the past as well.
The saints have rejected the exodus theory of BJP and pointed towards a "dangerous conspiracy" to disturb communal harmony in the state in their report.
