The 30-year-old "Ek Paheli Leela" actor, who has been hosting "Dance India Dance" (DID) since its inception in 2009, said he enjoys his time on the sets with Mithun and credits him for his comfort and flawless hosting.
"I share a great relationship with Mithun da. He and me are like Tom and Jerry of DID. He is the reason behind my spontaneity on the show. He is cool with being a part of the joke and since season one has made me comfortable. I can say anything to him.
Jay, who is set to host the fifth season of DID, feels the show provides platform to aspiring dancers to make it big in the industry.
"DID has changed so many lives. All the ex-participants are doing something or the other in the industry. See Punit Pathak, he was there in the second season and now within three years he is judging the show.
"That's how DID has changed life of so many people. And thanks to mentors like Remo Sir who came up with this excellent idea of making a dance based movie with all DID dancers. They are now the stars," he said.
However, Jay is fine with anchoring job as he can "afford" to work on films side by side.
"Right now I am totally focusing on my film career and have no plans to say yes to any daily soap offer," he said.
"But I am fine talking up the host job. It requires less time. I just need to shoot once or twice a week and can afford to work on my movie projects," he added.
"I am currently reading few scripts. Nothing is final yet, but I am looking for some good roles which give me scope to perform. In the past as well, I have done roles which satisfy me as an actor," he said.
