Meghalaya to set up required infrastructure along various

Meghalaya government today expressed confidence to fast track setting up infrastructure along various entry/exit points to check influx of outsiders into the state.
The government, which identified locations for setting up entry/exit points in the different parts of Khasi-Jaintia and Garo Hills region of the state, reviewed the progress today.
"Initiatives are on to ensure infrastructures along the entry/exit points are in place" Chief Minister Mukul Sangma told reporters after the meeting.
He said the state government will sit again within a week's time to ensure an appraisal on the overall infrastructure required to set the ball rolling.
"All line departments which include labour and revenue have been instructed to complete auditing of their manpower," Sangma said while informing that various line departments are going to be part of the exercise to ensure objective is fulfilled.

According to him, the departments are also directed to complete the auditing with regards to their wherewithals whether they are capable of implementing the whole responsibility assigned to them.
Asked on the status of the land acquisition, the chief minister informed that the government has so far received the social impact assessment (SIA) report on with respect of Malidor in East Jaintia Hills District.
"However with regards to the different sites, the SIA reports are still being awaited by the government," he said.
