Mentha oil prices fell by 0.47 per cent to Rs 825.20 per kg in futures trade today as traders reduced positions, tracking a weak trend at spot markets owing to sluggish industrial demand.
Besides, adequate stocks following higher arrivals from Chandouisi in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on mentha oil.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May declined by Rs 3.90, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 825.20 per kg in business turnover of 93 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in June declined by Rs 3.70, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 837.30 per kg in 171 lots.
Market analysts said offloading of positions by participants amid sluggish industrial demand in the spot markets mainly led to fall in mentha oil prices in futures market.
