Mercury shows upward trend in Raj, Barmer sizzles at 45.8 deg

After a brief respite from the blistering heat due to pre-monsoon showers in Rajasthan, the mercury is showing an upward trend in most of the places of the state.
Barmer was the hottest in the state with a maximum of 45.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Jaisalmer at 45 degrees Celsius, Ganganagar at 44.3 degrees Celsius, Churu at 44 degrees Celsius, Jodhpur at 43.9 degrees Celsius, Bikaner at 43.6 degrees Celsius, Kota at 43.2 degrees Celsius and Dabok at 41.4 degrees Celsius.
Since yesterday, Girva in Udaipur received 4 cm rainfall and Abu Road in Sirohi recorded 2 cm rains. Ghatol in Banswara and Nawa in Nagaur both recorded 1 cm rainfall.
The MeT department has predicted rain and thunderstorm at isolated places in the state while heatwave condition at isolated paces in west Rajasthan till tomorrow.
