The 20-year-old singer said her latest song is a pop ballad about heartbreak and everyone would relate to it, the Huffington Post reported.
"I think the video is much more, if people get past the point that I'm naked and you actually look at me. You can tell that I actually look more broken than even the song sounds. The song is a pop ballad. It's one of these songs that everyone is gonna to relate to, everyone's felt that feeling at some point," Cyrus told Z100 radio station in an interview.
"If you look in my eyes I look more sad than actually my voice sounds on the record. It was a lot harder to do the video than it was to even record the song. It was much more of an emotional experience."
'Wrecking Ball' is the latest single off of Cyrus' fourth studio album, "BANGERZ", slated to hit stores on October 8.
Her father Billy Ray has also defended Cyrus for the risque video which comes close on the heels of her controversial MTV VMA performance.
