Cyrus, 22, posted a snippet on her Instagram account that showed her in a recording studio passionately singing a slow ballad about forgiveness, reported People magazine.
"Why do people only show forgiveness when they want to sound cool in a song?" she sings in the clip.
Although Cyrus did not reveal too much in the teaser video, she already has fans amped up at the idea of new music on the horizon (her last album, "Bangerz", debuted October 2013).
The video does tip off a not-so-secret collaboration between the "We Can't Stop" songstress and Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne.
