"Make available all basic facilities including regular power, safe drinking water, sanitation, healthcare, transport, security, langar and accommodation to Amarnath yatris at Jammu base camp," Shabir told officials during his visit to the Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar.
Shabir also asked the state Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department to conduct regular inspections at markets to keep a check on the quality of eatables and rates and directed the department to take strict action against those found overcharging or selling sub-standard food items.
He later inaugurated a 14-day-long camp in connection with the 'World Population Day' at Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Director, AIDS Control Society, Dr Madhu Khullar and Mission Director NRHM, Dr Yashpal Sharma were among others present on the occasion.
