Some locals spotted the tunnel last evening during the cleaning of a drain following which they informed the bank authorities, Circle Officer Aley Hassan Khan said.
The tunnel was connected from the drain to an ATM kiosk from where it was further connected to the strong room of the bank where all cash and valuables are kept, Khan said.
Those responsible for digging the tunnel have not been identified yet.
