The letter which was faxed to Chief Justice G Rohini was referred to the vacation bench of justices Pratibha Rani and V Kameswar Rao which sought response from the Delhi police and also asked for a status report on the progress made in the case.
The bench sought the presence of the Investigating Officer (IO) on the next date of hearing and directed the police to make "sincere efforts" to trace the missing girl.
Advocate Mukesh Gupta appeared on behalf of the Delhi police.
According to the letter sent to the Chief Justice, FIR number 453/2014 under section 363 has been registered but no progress has been made till now by the police. Detail regarding the kidnapping case, including when the girl went missing, were not mentioned in the letter.
