Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu today said that the Modi-fest was an attempt to achieve the dream of making India developed.
"The country under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making all-round development," Prabhu said inaugurating the Modi-fest at Gulmohor Park here.
"The government is committed to work hard to root out poverty and social problems that are creating impediments on the path of development," Prabhu said adding that the PM has a dream of doubling the farmers' income by 2022.
For this, various development works and schemes like Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and others have been implemented in the last three years of Modi government, Prabhu said.
He, however, regretted that Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) was not being properly implemented by the West Bengal government causing sufferings to the people.
"The state government is not working properly to implement the PMAY scheme and this has resulted in sufferings to the common man," Prabhu said.
Highlighting the achievement in Railways, Prabhu said that Rs 3,75,000 crore have been invested in last three years to improve its condition, while several infrastructure-related works have already started to accelerate the speed of trains.
Altogether 10 stalls have been put up at the Modi-fest here to highlight welfare schemes of the BJP-led NDA government, besides providing information to people about the schemes.
A large number of people were visiting the Modi-fest which would continue till June 12.
State BJP president Dilip Ghosh and other party leaders were also present on the occasion.
Later, Prabhu visited a Dalit family nearby and shared lunch with the family members.
